The
Hoi An Full Moon Festival or
Hoian Lantern Festival is held on every 14th day of the lunar month in the old quarter of Hoian Ancient Town. During these nights, Hoi An ancient town switches off its electric lights and shuts down to motorized vehicles and multi-coloured colorful lanterns is lit up. This is a magical festival and gives you a glimpse of the local life & activities in 19th century.
From 6pm, Electricity is used to a minimum in the old quarter and fluorescent lighting is totally banned, so there is a truly magical charm in the old town of Hoian when all the colorful lanterns go on.
